Hi NarniaMUCKers!

There is going to be a Yuletide celebration at Anvard this year. For this festival, King Lune will welcome his people to a week of hunting, feasting, bonfires, wassailing (caroling), games, and other wintry surprises in and around the castle.

We're planning for a couple of big RP events (one at the beginning to kick things off and another at the end to wrap up), plus plenty of opportunities for smaller, more informal RPs in between. This will hopefully give as many people as possible a chance to get in on the fun at least once or twice. This event is open to all residents of Anvard and Andale. If you don't have an Anvard or Andale alt but would like to participate, let me know and we'll make some plans.

Here is a poll you can fill out with all of the days and times that will work for you. Your responses will be visible to everyone looking at the poll, so be sure to respond as the correct alt! If you have any iffy dates or scheduling issues you're waiting to hear about, shoot me a pmail so that I know what we're working with. Once I get an idea which dates will be best for the most people, I'll put out an announcement with an event schedule.

Hope to see you all there!

The results are in!

Our Yule festivities will begin Saturday, January 2nd at 2 pm EST. UPDATE: due to several players' unexpected schedule conflicts, there has been a schedule change for this day to Sunday, January 3rd at 3 pm EST. King Lune, his nobles, and their attendants will assemble and ride out on a winter hunt for the Yule boar. Meanwhile, the other residents of Anvard and Andale will strike out together on their own hunt for the perfect Yule log! They will find their tree, fell it, and parade it back to the castle together. In the evening, both hunting parties will gather in the great hall to light the Yule log, feast on the Yule boar, and make merry with music, parlor games, and other fun.

On Sunday, January 10th, the festival will conclude with a wassailing (caroling) party which will set out from the castle at 4 pm EST. They will visit each house in Andale to perform a song and invite the residents to join their party. Then the group will all make their way back to the castle for a final night of feasting, well-wishing, and toasting to a joyful and prosperous new year for all.

Throughout the course of the week, there will be opportunities for other fun. For example, maybe there will be a few good snowfalls that will make snow battles in the wards and on the castle lawn a possibility! Additionally, everyone will probably need to rehearse for their wassailing party, sample all of the treats, and socialize with their neighbors. Based on the poll results, it looks like Sunday the 3rd, Tuesday the 5th, and Saturday the 9th will be good days to try to drum up festive RP.

We hope you will all join us and help add to the fun!
