MUCKing Tip: RP Scenarios

Sometime when you're feeling creative and/or bored, brainstorm a list of fun and different RP ideas to keep for a rainy day. This helps you have something interesting to pull out of the box when there's nothing going on so that you don't get stuck sitting and talking about The Weather all the time. Some ideas to get you started: your Daughter of Eve has a persistent and embarrassing case of the hiccups, your Dwarf is ready to tar and feather his neighbor for snoring so loudly, and your Wolf keeps inviting the Squirrels' ire by stumbling upon their acorn stashes.

What unusual, creative, and entertaining RP scenarios have you had the opportunity to participate in? Do you have a process that you use to generate RP ideas? Are there other characters who consistently come up with original and interesting things to do? Discuss!

Note: Remember to log in as the character involved in the particular RP that you are talking about so that you don't reveal your alts!

Weather. I think a lot of times we tend to take the descs for the rooms we're RPing in as set in stone, when logically it's not always going to be a sunny summer day. Storms are fantastic. So are those sort of drizzly gloomy days where basically all you want to do is sleep. I really like those crazy windy nights when a thunderstorm is moving in. Have you ever seen a RL cat on one of those nights? They get allll wound up.

For me- I made up a routine for Lola which includes a little working, cleaning, and recreation (dancing/singing/cooking ect) I have found that fun rp's can happen based on every day routines that turn into fun encounters. Adding detail of a facial expression or an adjective on whatever your character is doing (the verb...lol) can make the diffrence. The other day I at the fishing phase of my daily routine and got pushed into the stream by another faun. Routines can be fun. You just gotta imagine it out first.

Crenna has had her fair share of interesting RPs. Here are a couple that I can remember/found interesting:

She hurt her paw and tried to wash off in Cauldron Pool.

She got into a poetry battle with Dreygan.

She got into a howl contest with Dreygan.

She chased a bug with Rainsey.

She played tag with Kari and Dreygan two separate times.

She went hunting with Pheeobe.

I am sure that there are others but I can't recall them at the moment. Hope these help?

Noelle and I had a good RP the other day! Lonnie lives in Bergdale with the Fauns but ventured into the Great Woods where she met Noelle(who is a young deer). They were discussing Bergdale and we had a good RP session because both young creatures thought Fauns and Fawns were the same thing! So if you are ever stuck, think about what things sound like instead of just reading it!

Go exploring. Like seriously. Use those room descs. I had a character go hiking.
Also, now that the borders give us more flexibility, go on an adventure! Go see the stone table and take a buddy. Go one region away to visit a friend. Move around.
Winterden's been using the freedom, we were forced to for hunting and it's opening up some fun opportunities instead of having to stay at the den with each other all the time. With our location, we can plausibly run to Bergdale, Sted Cair, or the Stone Table.
Those of you in Lantern Waste should start going down to the Western March or the plains, they are SUPER CLOSE.
Some ideas I have are taking my tenderfeet to the Stone Table soon, and I am seriously contemplating a prank war. More on that to come :P
Also, don't RP in a group all the time. Split off with different people and get to know each character. Group RPs in my experience tend to just take turns agreeing with each other and talking about the weather and I don't set aside precious time for RPs like that XD
If you have an idea for a RP, you can always mention it OOCly to see who all is on board. Crenna and I got some great ideas doing this.

I feel like that's enough for one post....
basically in a nutshell, think like a writer. BE CREATIVE! what would *you* want to read or do in RL?
Ready, go!
