Re: Miskord picks a peck of lore tidbits
A list of things you've learned is a good idea, it'll help others who have the same questions. Some of the items might make good FAQ fodder.

Re: Any Glow MUCK-compatible ANSI 'paint' programs?
If you mean one that uses the ^COLOR^ color codes, I don't know of one. I used TundraDraw to build the color welcome screen, but TundraDraw creates actual ANSI codes.
However... it'd probably not take very long for someone to come up with a series of regex replacements in an awk/python/ruby/perl ...

Re: NarniaMUCK and You: A Retrospective
My first day...nope. I don't remember it. Too old.
Apparently, it involved being online in the dead of night, just like now...
I think someone made me change my description. Some crazy idea that elves weren't allowed. Humph. :???:
No, I really don't remember. Too many lines of code ago. Sorry ...

Re: IC/OOC separation, alts privacy, etc.
The rest of the staff have already posted excellent responses to this topic. However, I thought of a couple of things I'd like to add.
Lapis (and all other players) its always good to ask questions about the rules we've come up with, it invariably sparks discussion and sometimes those discussion ...

Re: Security Error
I believe I saw something about this a while ago, but I couldn't find it again. Past couple days, the website's play thing has been unable to connect because of a 'security error'? Any suggestions?

Re: New User Login
This befuddled me, as I am not accustomed to MUCK accounts linking to web/forum accounts.
Yeah, I'm not sure how many worlds have gone to the effort of integrating in that fashion. It seemed like a great idea at the time. Your character name and password should work on: the game (obviously ...

I wasn't confused. At least, by this.
But the world is a confusing place, and I am frequently befuddled.

Re: MU clients and Windows 7
I've never found a client I like as well as the venerable TinyFugue (though mud.el for Emacs is a nostalgic second choice). Recently I've been running tf from my Unix shell service ( SDF.org , highly recommended for anyone who likes using the Unix command line, or wants to learn how). That way I ...

Re: Tintin++ Client
Although TinyFugue is an old favorite, I'm switching to another old standard, Tintin++ . It seems to handle better multi-byte characters, like Japanese kanji, which I'm using on an experimental start-up MUX.
