My mom pronounced it /ʧ/ when she was reading it to us growing up, so that's where I get that.
I mean, she also pronounced Aslan as Asland sometimes, so there's that.

Right there with ya! Archenland is said with an "Arch" and Aslan is said with a sometimes not so silent d.

My best friend in high school said Asland. Also, Aragorn with a silent R. Eragon.
