life changing tbh
Okay so here is some backstory: I went to visit Anth in real life in real time in ACTUAL PERSON, it was pretty great, do recommend, we had a great time and drank a lot of tea and went to a lot of places and took a lot of pictures.
And we talked about NarniaMUCK, as you do.
In the course of this conversation, we discovered a thing: I say "Archenland" with the ch pronounced like the ch in "change" or "archer". Anth says "Archenland" with the ch pronounced like the ch in "chimera" or "anarchy".
So which is it? How do you say it? Does anybody say "Archenland" with the ch pronounced like "chef" or "parachute"?? INQUIRING MINDS NEED TO KNOW.

Re: VERY IMPORTANT POLL
I read it in my mind as Argenland but that is my Dutch interfering with the CH sound, translated it back to English I would say it with a K
Re: VERY IMPORTANT POLL

Re: VERY IMPORTANT POLL
Apologies to all you likely-proper-pronouncers, but it says 'ch' and since I was like 2 I've read it with that sound, like an arch. Though I do kinda like the sound of 'Arkenland'. It'll take me a while to transition.
Re: VERY IMPORTANT POLL
Going with the /k/ on this one... Gotta love those Radio Dramas.
Re: VERY IMPORTANT POLL
It simply never occurred to me as a child to hear anything other than /k/ in Archenland.
Mind you, it was obvious to me as a child that "vehement" was pronounced "vehehminent", so what do I know?
