There is an annular (not total) eclipse this weekend, visible from eastern Asia and Japan and will be visible in the western U.S.; its strongest effect within the U.S. will be essentially from the Oregon/California border east-southeastward through Reno, Nevada; the Arizona/Utah border; Albuquerque, New Mexico and ending with the setting of the sun just past Lubbock, Texas. Should have some visible effect over a much wider area, though.
